For best results, mist skin generously with Elixir or Hydrosol then apply Sun Serum to the face and Sun Body Oil to the body before and after time spent in the sun. When in full sun exposure for longer periods, we recommend reapplying frequently. Each person’s skin is unique, and timing will differ for each individual. If using in conjunction with a Zinc-based sunscreen, apply Sun Serum and Sun Body Oil to the skin first, followed by the sunscreen as a final step.
Sunscreen?
Sunscreens are made with FDA approved drugs, and plants are not widely regarded as drugs – whole plants are definitely not regarded as drugs by the FDA. Chemical compounds within plants are variable and can change from harvest to harvest, farm to farm, or processor to processor. While we cannot legally recommend using our products as sunscreens, there is still substantial evidence to support that specific plants with high antioxidant content will absolutely help to prevent sun damage from occurring.

Post-Sun Ritual
Most of us have gotten carried away on a sunny day: enjoying the ocean for a bit too long or getting caught up with friends during an extended summer picnic. For a short while, we don’t notice that our skin is starting to feel too warm and is looking pinker than it should. When that undoubtedly happens, my favorite summer ritual can be used to prevent what can become a lingering sun burn.
First, take a quick cool shower, if needed, with minimal soap usage – as soap can increase irritation and decrease vitamin D production immediately following time in the sun. Follow with a generous full body misting of our Chamomile Hydrosol for immediate anti-inflammatory relief and cooling action. Then apply our Sun Body Oil from neck to toe on damp skin. For an added boost, apply another spritz of Chamomile Hydrosol and a touch of Recovery Balm to those extra sun-kissed areas. While we will always experience those moments of getting carried away in the sun, we promise that this post-sun ritual can prevent the discomfort that often follows.
