Rose – Our organic White Rose essential oil is gentle and soothing to the skin, while deeply supportive to connective tissue. Rose reduces the appearance of fine lines and is a powerful free radical scavenger.
Sandalwood – Our Sandalwood is sustainably and organically cultivated in Hawaii. It is carefully distilled by a master artisan distiller over the course of several days. Sandalwood Oil has a different richer structure than other essential oils; it is deeply moisturizing and gentle for all skin types.
Pomegranate Oil – One of the most beautiful oils that we work with. Pomegranate Oil is rich and thick by nature; it is healing to skin barriers that have been damaged over time by inflammation.
Sea Buckthorn Oil – This concentrated superfood extract is made of the whole fruit and the seed, which maintains its wide range of essential fatty acids, vitamin C and carotenoids. Vibrant Sea Buckthorn works to strengthen connective tissue and prevents collagen breakdown.
Rose Hip Seed Oil – Our Rosehip Oil is incredibly special because it comes from both fruit and seed, making more vitamins and nutrients available. There are no oils that match the unique chemical make-up of Rosehip Oil, which has been used for centuries and studied at length for its ability to reduce the appearance of scars, repair deep cellular damage, and minimize the appearance of fine lines by supporting collagen and connective tissue.

If your Balm melts in transit, it could have textural changes that make it less smooth. While this does not affect product performance, a smooth Balm texture is often more desirable. If you would like to restore your Balm’s texture, follow the instructions in this video. Do not leave your Balm in a hot location like your car or near a sunny window.
A Balm for Your Pillowcase
Can you use too much Balm? While it is a myth that oil makes the skin break out, it is true that your skin can only absorb so much oil. If a product is not absorbing easily into your skin – whether it be a facial oil or a facial balm, consider first that you might simply be using too much. A facial cream or lotion is always approximately 70% water to create a stable emulsion. Laurel Skin Balms don’t contain any water, which means you should use much less Balm than you would a cream or lotion. When you are switching to a Balm from a cream, we recommend using only 1/4 of what you normally would with a cream. Balms are concentrated in comparison to normal commercial skin care. They remove all unnecessary ingredients, only providing you with the most valuable nutrients. An additional tip for optimal absorption is to make sure you are using enough Elixir. Balms need that hydration from our Elixirs to properly absorb into the skin.
A Night Balm Masking Ritual
Our Night Balm can be used as a mask, and I highly recommend it! Many of you with oily or combination skin express that you would love to benefit from the phytonutrient content and actions of the Night Balm, but you don’t want to wear a Balm every day. This Balm can be used as a nutrient-dense regenerative mask. Apply Night Balm to clean skin in a rich thick layer, and massage intuitively. I prefer a deep facial massage to release muscle tension followed by a light lymph massage to promote downward drainage. Leave on for 10-30 minutes. Use a warm steamy towel to remove any excess Balm. Finish with several mists of Elixir and a drop of Serum, as needed. Your skin will glow afterwards and retain these nutrients for extended repair.
