Neroli – The scent of fresh, bright citrus blossom, Neroli, is uplifting and joyful. In addition to brightening the scent of the Day Balm, Neroli also has a brightening, toning, and balancing effect on the skin.
Calendula – Our vibrant biodynamic Calendula is farmed and hand-harvested flower by flower exclusively for Laurel Skin. Calendula contains valuable healing resins that make it both deeply restorative and protective on a cellular level. Its abundance of carotenoids and flavonoids make it specific to addressing sun damage prevention and repair.
Carrot Seed – This soothing aromatic oil helps reduce irritation, as well as stimulates the skin’s healing response to sun exposure. It has been shown to firm the skin and brighten discoloration.
Rosehip – Our Rosehip Oil is special because it comes from both fruit and seed, making a wider variety of vitamins and nutrients available within the oil. There are no oils that match the unique chemical makeup of Rosehip Oil, which contains retinoic acid, vitamin E, carotenoids, flavonoids, and vitamin C within the fruit. It has been traditionally used and modernly studied for its ability to reduce the appearance of scars and hyperpigmentation, and to minimize the appearance of fine lines by supporting collagen and connective tissue.
Gotu Kola – Gotu Kola is a plant that supports connective tissue and collagen, by protecting it and encouraging new growth. Our Gotu Kola is the most vibrant in the world, grown exclusively for us by a nearby farm. It is a plant that we truly cannot do without in any healthy aging formula.

Apply a very small amount (about 1/4 of a pea size) of Day Balm to face, neck, and chest after applying Elixir and Serum.
Use within 6 months of opening and by the recommended use-by date, which is found on the bottom of the bottle. Store this product in a cool, dry and dark place.
If your Balm melts in transit, it could have textural changes that make it less smooth. While this does not affect product performance, a smooth Balm texture is often more desirable. If you would like to restore your Balm’s texture, follow the instructions in this video. Do not leave your Balm in a hot location like your car or near a sunny window.
Can you use too much Balm?
While it is a myth that oil makes the skin break out, it is true that your skin can only absorb so much oil. If a product is not absorbing easily into your skin – whether it be a facial oil or a facial balm, consider first that you might be using too much. A facial cream or lotion is always approximately 70% water to create a stable emulsion. Laurel Skin Balms don’t contain any water, which means you should use much less Balm than you would a cream or lotion. When you are switching to a Balm from a cream, we recommend using only 1/4 of what you normally would with a cream. Balms are concentrated in comparison to more commercial skin care. They remove all unnecessary ingredients, only providing you with the most valuable nutrients.
Elixir, Serum, Elixir, Balm:
Another tip to ensuring that your Laurel Skin products are absorbing properly is to increase your Elixir usage. That is one of the most common recommendations that we give to our customers – use more Elixir. My personal favorite way to use the Day Balm is to boost my sun protection in the summer months. My ritual looks something like this: After a generous misting of Elixir (6+ sprays), I follow with a couple drops of Serum from forehead to chest. Then I do another misting of Elixir (2 sprays), and finish with a tiny amount of Day Balm. Sometimes, if I don’t feel I need a full face of Day Balm, I only apply to the areas that need extra protection from the sun: like my forehead, temples, cheeks and chest.
